It’s sort of an earth shatteringly sad moment when you realize that the first time we see real, legitimate tears in Cas’ eyes are when Dean loses faith in him.

He turned his back on his family, lost his faith in his Father, became human, died more than once, was hunted by angels and demons alike, left home, and lost everything he once held dear and yet the first time we see Cas close to just losing it and breaking down sobbing is because of Dean.

Thousands of years of existence, billions of souls on the planet, and Dean Winchester is the one person who has the power to truly break Cas’ heart.
